Some easy christmas cards using "Papirdesign".

If you are here for the Paper Issues/Reminisce  blog hop plese scroll down one post!

Just a short one today sharing some  cards I made this week end.
The formula is simple but that is a necessity if you have many cards to make.

I followed the same steps for all the cards;

Cut cardstock sheet in half and score through the middle.
Cut patterned paper in four and make the squares slightly smaller than the front of your card.
If you like you can ink around the edges. I framed a vintage image with some pp and also added
some strips of patterned paper and lace. Not much more needed in way of embellishments.
I added a few clustered flowers and a "Merry Christmas" sentiment printed on chipboard.

All the supplies here are from Papirdesign.

Thanks for dropping by!!

Holiday Happy. Inspirational bloghop at Paper Issues. Giveaway from Reminisce.

Hi and welcome to the Happy Holiday bloghop.

At Paper Issues we are happy to be sponsored by Reminisce starting today Nov 18th and going on for the next two weeks. We would like you to link up your projects that go with our theme to our original PI post HERE. Every day DT members will pick three projects to feature from what you link up, and hopefully send a lot of new traffic to your blogs.

I received a beautiful kit by Reminisce including some lovely seasonal 12 X 12 papers and stickers.
This kit is also what will be offered as a prize to two lucky winners.

It is my first Christmas project of the year,...I am normally a slow starter... But with these very classic and elegant looking papers I could not wait to get started!
I printed some of the photos I took last Christmas and decided to start a mini album.
So far I have finished the cover but I will share the rest of it as I finish more pages.
This is what it looks like:

To win one of the prizes :
I would like you to be or become a follower of my blog and post a comment on this post.

We have two of these kits to give away! :-)

The  DT members taking part in the hop are:
Bente (that's me :-D)

Here are a few more pictures of my album.

I used a pre-made mini-album  as a base and covered the pages with beautiful patterned papers.
I added a thin layer of gesso on top of the front page and aged it with some gold paint around the edges. I even used a little tan coloured paint to make it look more 'worn'.
I then added my embellishments; lace, ribbon leaves and lovely flowers.
I wanted to use one of the stickers for my title and at first I was going to use a really large one.
I decided against it as it would have covered up so much of the patterned paper . I found an old chipboard frame and put a smaller sticker behind it. I loved the look!

The smaller sticker words are also by Reminisce...Family, Traditions,...Peace...
I created a soft crackle paint effect on the chipboard frame, -after I painted it and distressed it with
 some gold paint.

I have a code that will let you take 20 percent off your whole cart when you go shopping at

Thanks for dropping by and Happy Holiday Hopping!!

A new layout for Papirdesign and "Stamp On It!" at Paper Issues.

I made another layout for Papirdesign
I can truly say I love diving into that large box of goodies that Line sent me,to look for paper or product that that tickle my fancy at any given moment. The variety is great and I can find almost any colour I like to work with. I think that lately I have been using a lot of yellow on my lo's,...maybe because it is so dreary and grey outside...

The diecut shape that I think packs quite a punch on this lo, was cut fom an ordinary 12x12 paper using a large die cut sheet as a templat. I used to do that a lot before. It is a good way to get the shape you want with the paper you are using.

I added quite a few embellishments and other details here.
The large mannequin is from the Artisan shapes by Pink Paislee. As always I love to strew little half pearls over the page and mix with the pretty mini roses that Papirdesign has in all colours imaginable,..and in so many different sizes, too!

As always I managed to spray mist all over my photo even though I thought I took all the neccesary precautions...It just went in totally opposite direction from what was intended, probably because I need to clean the nozzle on the bottle...Fortunately I could edit away some of it, but I will have to replace the photo when I can. It's just so much work to take off everything again....

Beautiful, beautiful blooms and pearls :-)

The butterfly was made with a Martha Stewart punch that I borrowed from my sweet sister.
The rose I cut from one of the elements sheets,..love some fussy cutting...I also love the look of  that little piece from a swirl that I added to the mannequin.- Looks right at home there on the hip...

The text on the little chipboard oval says 'You are the best' and is made by Papirdesign as well as the lace I used around the large circle.

I started out using a mask and brown gesso on the brown base paper, but that was quickly covered up by layers of corrugated cardboard, cheese cloth, mist and then some white paint to tone down the yellow Glimmermist, then the photomat, photo, stickers and finally all the embellishments. -So I guess I could have left that part out from the beginning,... Still, I think you can see  a little bit of it peeking out in the next shot :-) .

I love this light blue and yellow style of letter stickers.
They have been my preferred style for a long time. -Just the right size! And at Papirdesign you'll find them in SO many colours!

Over at Paper Issues right now the theme is "Stamp On It !!"

I know many of you are excellent stampers and have many projects that you could link up.
Then you get a chance to be one of the features of the day, (The DT'll showcase three projects every day) and you also get a chance to win some spectacular stamps by our sponsor  Hero Arts.

The projects do not have to be new or exclusive to PI. You can pick older  faves if you like.
We just want you to share your creativity with all of us!
Link them up HERE

And this is also where you can read about the "Stamp On!!" It bloghop.

Here are some pictures.

That is all I have for today....I hope that you all have a lovely Tuesday!
I am a little envious of those of you who live in parts where you are having Spring right now.... My favourite season. But I guess us Scandinavians would not love our Sring/Summer so much if we did not have the dreary Autumn and cold wet Winters, too.
Hugs!

The November sketch at Les Papiers de Pandore,..-and a sweet win for me...!

Good morning and happy Sunday to you all!!
It's been a busy week here again and quite a few days between updates....
Still, I am very happy to see you here and want to share my latest layout that I did for Les Papiers de Pandore and that is also the base for this months sketch.

I used the newest collection called "Little Winter Circus" which is so full of cute whimsy!
In my previous layout 'Skating Fun' a couple of posts down, you can see the papers 'clean' with no gesso or paint on them. But for this layout I wanted to show that these papers can look shabby too, with some mixed media added.

This is the beautiful and versatile sketch:

On the Pandore blog you can see lovely interpretations from  DT members Helen and Jennife, too.

The flowers are recent ones from Prima Marketing. And to add to the wintery feel I punched a bunch of snowflakes from the pp. I used a chipboard snoflake as a template for my oversized yellow one and added glitterglue to the edges. I used two different masks from Crafters Workshop, - bricks and diamonds.

I added some mist here and there, and as always it sprayed in directions I had not anticipated and left large splashes all over my photo...! Luckily for this post I was able to remove them digitally, but they are still left on my photo so I may try to exchange it for a 'clean' one later.
Feels like it's the second lo in a row that happens to me...

Underneath my flower cluster I matted with one of the 'petit coupons' from the cards sheet.

The pretty washi tape with golden dots was used to hold together the packaging on a DT-kit I received from the States. Don't you just love recycling.. :-) ?

A couple more close ups and I'm done...

I hope you enjoyed my wintery layout. For those of you with papers from Les Papiers de Pandore, and any collection is ok not just the latest ones please join in our challenge and post your layouts on the Pandore Facebook page. Who knows,..might be your lucky day!!

Oh, I almost forgot (I actually posted before I remembered...LOL )....

I won the Mix and Match challene over at Websters Pages with this layout!
My first ever posted there. Talking about some serious beginners luck .. :-)!
I am delighted, and I will receive a kit of my choice. Isn't that great!?
Here's a screen shot:

All for now!
Hopefully I will get some creating done today!

Hugs!

Some more Scrapcake

Just a quick post today to share another one of my ScrapCake layouts that I came across.

Even on this page there is a lot of cutting and wielding of craft knife!

The photos were taken by photographer Gisela Ackerup.

I used a few Prima flowers of course, but a lot of the embellishments here are hand made. The rosette flower and the layered strips are cut from the patterned papers. The papers speak loud on this layout and I just love papers with a trellies pattern!

The title 'Goding' means something like 'Cutie' or 'Sweetie'.

I like the effect of cutting away the white paper in most of the squares but not in all.
Looks more 'random'....

I like to add pop dots to my layers. I think it makes the lo more tactile.

Ok, as I said,...just a quick post.
I hope you like my lo. I think it's been hiding away for more than a year....!
Hugs, Bente!
